Welcome to Worship/Announcements
Opening Song “Take My Life, that I May Be” #406
We confess our need for the gift of Faith:
All: God, we come to you asking for forgiveness. We do not love as we could love. We do not give as we could give, and we do not offer forgiveness as we have seen forgiveness. We recognize our sin and in this moment of silence, we privately remember our shortcomings in love and life. (silence)
We Hear the Good News of Our Forgiveness:
God hears the prayers of all children and answers prayer. Our prayer for forgiveness is answered in the person of Jesus Christ, God’s son, who died for our sin that we might have new life. The distance between God and us has been bridged by love made perfect in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. To those who believe God’s word of truth comes the power to be the people of God. Praise God for the gift of love and forgiveness.
Congregation: AMEN!

Affirmation of Faith
I believe in God, who has created all life and continues to create new life within us.
I believe in Jesus, son of God, son of all creation, who is Savior of the world. By his life, his death and his resurrection, I can know the true depth of human possibility and experience the true joy of abundant life.
I believe the Holy Spirit is present now and always, calling me to faith, giving me gifts, and empowering me for service.
I believe the church is the community of faith called to experience the fullness of life through God’s Word made flesh in Jesus Christ. Amen.

C: We have come to share in the table Jesus has prepared for us.
L: He took the bad news of our sin and guilt and changed it to good news through his dying and rising for us.
C: We are here to celebrate the good news and the presence of Christ with us.
L: And he took the bread, blessed it, and broke it. He said to his disciples, “Take, eat, this is my body.” Also, he took the wine. After saying thanks, he gave it to them saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood for the covenant. It is poured out for the forgiveness of sins. Do this to remember me.”
C: We thank you, God, for these gifts of life given in love for us. Heal us and empower us through them, that we might be for the world signs of your gracious love.
